I need to plumb in a crossover relief valve into my 3rd function. There isn't one on my hydraulic post hole digger & judging by how the hoses jump when letting off the solenoid buttons the hoses are getting hammered as the motor spins down briefly acting as a pump.
Is there any reason I cant or shouldn't mount it to the tractor side of the QDs rather than the auger side? I was plannning on setting it in the 2,500-3,000psi range. Tractor is rated at 2,500psi, hydraulic motor & hoses are rated at up to 3,000psi. I'm trying to figure out any drawbacks to putting a crossover relief on there permantly. Other than when a pump/motor overpressurizes things the the crossover relief shouldn't do anything as long as its set higher than the tractor's normal relief.
I was looking at*1/2 NPT 3 GPM 15 -3 PSI HYD CUSHION VALVE | Relief & Cushion Valves | Hydraulic Valves | Hydraulics | www.surpluscenter.com, but just realized there is a crossover relief on my SSQA plow. No clue offhand what size fittings or what PSI it's set to. Need to go check that out.
Any thoughts on permantly mounting up a crossover relief on the 3rd runction circuit?
