I have a GC2300 and am thinking about a PHD. Any recommendations? It will not see hard use - so does not have to be the heaviest ever built.

I do need 9" at 48" depth. Can the tractor handle this?

I have a "The Leinbach Line" L8000, works great, it was around 400.00 with the 8" auger. I am using a 1533 to power it. I really don't think you will have a problem with what you want to do with your tractor. Think of it this way, 1 or 2 guys can do what you are asking with a hand held gas powered PHD, so I am sure your tractor has more power then 1 or 2 people. You could have some hight problems when the auger is on (hitting the ground when travailing) and "maybe" the PTO shaft could need some trimming (but I don't think so).

BUT you really should say what size bit you want to use and what you will be digging in. I see you are in up state NY. I know that you can have hard clay, rocks and so on to deal with.

Here is a pic of mine... (this is the older model)
