I took my B8200 out in the woods today to get this monster out! I must have caught a stick or something as now my powersteering is leaking from one of the hoses. Or it just might have given up with all the weight in the bucket! Oh well, at least its an easy fix. As for the deer, what makes it all the sweeter is that I got it out of the same stand that someone placed a bomb under a few weeks ago. ( read HUNTERS BEWARE post)

Von, I know Northern deer are larger bodied, but this one looks extra large. Curious as to how much was his field dressed weight? Did you by chance measure around the base of his horns? Just wondering. Nice Buck.

The Buck stops here!!

I looked at the picture and I'm not sure but I think the meat is tainted. Maybe you should send me a good sized hunk and I'll have it tested./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Nice job, thats one good looking animal.

Nice looking 8 point. That's the kind of buck we all dream about bringing home. So, when's the venison roast and just exactly where do you live?......we'll all need directions.

Von,

Nice buck! What did it weight in at? Thats what I'm looking for in a week and a half. Hopefully I find one.

I grew up in South Dakota and in counting points on a buck, it depends if you were east river or west river, the missouri that is. East river counted all points, broken or not. West river counted only one side and both sides had to match or the point was not counted. Of course after the hunt as the hunter relaxed with a brew the points always grew. Just a thought

Derik + Ernie,
The deer weighed in at 170lbs. dressed and the rack scored only 107" after deductions. He is not the biggest I ever got , but is still a keeper. Still haven't gotten one that I would spend the money to mount. As they say, "you don't eat the horns". As for the power steering. I had to use the old ends off of the old hose. They are some weird size, and the place making the hose didn't have any. As long as it works I won't care.

I grew up hunting in Michigan and Wisconsin and we always count both sides of the rack. A neighbor was telling me that out west some folks only count one side. I guess both ways work, probably just a matter of where you're from.

Von, we still haven't heard when you're having the venison roast.

Bob,
He still is hanging, will be butchering him up tonight. Feel free to stop over and lend a hand.
