Got a copy of my new 4720 contract in the mail. I bought the physical damage insurance since over 5 years it's not a bad deal.

In the exclusions the following is mentioned as damage not covered caused by:
"Any weapon employing atomic fission or fusion, or nuclear reaction or radiation, or radioactive contamination from any other cause..."

Now for them to put this exclusion in there leads me to believe somebody tried a claim. :)

Maybe JD's were used for the Bikini Island cleanup in the 50's when the US did above ground nuclear tests and they tried a claim? :O)

Consider for a moment the team of lawyer's and "risk analyses" economist's that JD has on staff or retainer...

They came up with that!! (How MUCH do green tractor's cost??)

My home-owners policy has the same clause.

My contractors insurance policy has a clause they won't pay if I cause or use one of the aforementioned items.

On the contractors policy the exclusions cover twice as much paper as the base policy. Two renewals ago one of the exclusions negated a major reason for the policy. I had to buy a special rider policy just for RF radiation exposure. I spent the better part of 3 hours on the phone explaining the difference between RF and Ionizing radiation. I don't think I made much headway with the underwriters.

It use to just say something about any damage resulting from "an act of war, whether declared or undeclared"
I guess this is a sign of the times, they want to be covered for the terrorist suitcase attack.

I once had building insurance that detailed incidents involving spacecraft. Considering how expensive it was, I think they could have covered me on that one.
Fine print usually annoys me.
