Picked up 2515H today!

I picked up a 2515H with BH150 Backhoe and factory diverter valve today. I bought a 4520R new back in 2015 and sold it last year. The 4520R sold me on Branson being built like a tank and being simple designs. When I first saw a 2515 I was blown away by the size of the tractor with a 25 hp engine. When I figured out that the engine in the 2515 is the same as the 3015 and the 3515 I really became interested. In theory, one could figure out how the motor is detuned and turn it up to make it a 3515 (once warranty is done). The weight of the tractor, the loader lift, 3 point lift all are tops in their respective categories when compared to similar competitors. No Tier 4 garbage to complicate things. Anyways, looking forward to participating in forum again.

Also can’t help notice the bucket with the extreme dump. I’d avoid tying it down like that to prevent overextending the cylinders.

Congrats on the new "toy"!

I second Aquamoose. I also noticed on the newer tractors with the BL150 loader, that they went away with that extra linkage on the curl/dump cylinders. Now they go straight to the bucket, which makes it look a bit easier to bend rods.

I did not notice that at first. Wonder what they thought the advantage would be?

For them, the main advantage would be reduced costs, since it uses less parts, also less machining required, etc. And I wonder if this setup, makes the lift and curl cylinders the same, so they don't have to make a short or longer cylinder for the curl.

For the end user, I don't see much of an advantage. Maybe the opposite, as the cylinder is now easier to bend the rod due to it's extra length on weird angles. Fully dumped, it will go almost over center.

That being said, it's still a perfectly usable loader. It will still take some serious abuse to bend a rod. I don't want the OP to get scared or something as we're just discussing design changes.

So i actually asked branson about this and am waiting for a response from them on why they change the loader design, as soon as they let me know i'll post it on the forums, i was and still am pretty curious as to why the sudden change, two months ago we were receiving the "older" style FEL, and just this month we started receiving the "new" style i'm hoping to get a legitimate answer from them by monday so i'll keep you guys updated once i get the info,

also be on the look out, i should be getting the new style parts books, and service manuals for the new 20 series and 15 series models in the next two months when i get them i will share them as well.

Asteral, Thanks for that tip!Was the loader changes introduced on the 2515 2020 models or new 2021’s? We are looking at new compacts and keep coming back to this model. Thanks
