Rake Picked up a Harley rake, any guesses as to year?

Picked it up at a used implement store. The guys says he's seen 6 or 7 of them in 20 years go through there and he happened to have 2 at the time. I would've loved to just rent one, but no one around me has one. Paid $1000 for it. I figure I'll be able to sell it when I'm done. Or just keep it; it is pretty cool. I hope this one works as well as the newer ones w/ the spikes.

I'm envious. I 've thought I wanted a Harley rake for several years, but I don't have any use for one in the foreseeable future so all I've done is dream about having one. Good luck with it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I don't know how to compare the old designs to the new ones. This one is obviously different, and I can only assume it doesn't work the same as the new ones with the short stubs on the roller bar.
This one sure looks like it is in very good condition. Hope it works good for you.

I'd guess mid-80's since the drive chain is not running in oil and it is a fixed-angle machine. Plus, another clue is that earlier units were painted white like yours.
