That may be the reason there are 4 tips that are clogged with metal that are no good. Don't know why he kept them, probably more trouble to try and clean out than they are worth.

Some people have had success running aluminum wire through a teflon liner but usually sooner rather than later, you run into problems. The spool guns for these small MIG's are quite reasonable now around $250 or less. A lot less problems to deal with.

I have a Clarke 135en I believe and I like it. 1/4" is at the top of its capabilities but I use it for a lot of little projects. They are handy tools.

I have got way more in it than I could ever sell it for, but never plan on getting rid of it. Now I can add / fix things on it as needed.
