Tiller Picking a King Kutter tiller

I see on your worn KK tines that the angle of your edge is now going the opposite way as when new. Now your beveled side is beating the ground instead of the sharp edge. I surly would not call that "self sharpening".

Granted I am looking at these pics on my phone, but the worn blade has taken on the resemblance of a knife, albeit a rusty one. I think that is evidence of sharpening to me.

Finally made my decision and picked up a 6' KK II yesterday, $1595. I really could not justify the extra $ for the "Pro" model. Got it home, unloaded and on the tractor. I topped up the gear oils and greased the outer bearing. I still need to fit the pto shaft as it is a little too long. Definitely a beast compared to the old Caroni tiller.

BTW... King Kutter has a new lower priced model, still has the KK II stickers on it, made in the same Ohio factory but is $100 cheaper. It is basically a hybrid between the KK II and the KK Pro as it does not have a box frame around the top but still is a flat top. Also does not have the right side gear box support tube like the KK II has. A little less steel and lower cost in production saves you $100 but I still went with the box framed KK II.

All of these have Omni Gear boxes and Omni side gear boxes... still have the Omni labels under the yellow paint and OG cast in the housings.

How are you liking the KKII?

I noticed on the Rural King website, that the 6' Pro and KKII are only about $50 different in price. Would that justify getting the Pro? I have used my neighbors KKII many times and love it, so don't know what extra the Pro version brings to the table, but if anything is better, then that amount of money would easily justify it.

From that picture it looks like the pro model has a different design shell that won't hold water like the other model. I own the non pro model and I keep it inside so I don't have to worry about water sitting on top but dirt and debris collects there which is annoying, the pro model looks like it would easily brush off and water would run off if stored outside. From the picture it looks like the pro model might have more tines but it's tough to see.

I believe the pro model is quick hitch compatible.
The water, soil and leaf shedding top shell is another selling point.
