Thanks so much to the folks on this board, I have learned so much and I excited to be picking up my new L3400 with 60" Woods mower on Saturday. Sadly, I could not deal with the local three dealers and I made my purchase from a respectable dealer on this board. All and all, not a bad drive as it's only in the next city east of me and not far from the in-laws, so everything worked out in the end.

Also, my father followed suit and purchased a new B series Kubota as well. We're picking up my tractor this week and his in a few weeks later.

2nd cutting of hay is looking ready and I can wait to use the new 3400 as my primary raking tractor. If all goes well, I hope replace my old John Deere in a couple of years with a new 70HP tractor. It only took me 2 years to make the utility tractor disicion, so I better start my hunt for a new farm tractor now. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks again to all who had given me great advise. I'll post pictures of the new machine working in the fields as soon as the rain stops!!!

I was thinking a compact would be nice for raking and tedding! A quick detach loader would be good so it isn't clanking and banging away.

Congratulations, Bill! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've been really happy with my L2800 and I hope it goes at least as well for you. Get some photos out and give us the lowdown as you go.

About half of my sales are to internet customers. We have 9 salesmen here, I do most of our web based stuff and take walk in customers when no one else is around. I have made a few sales though TBN, but its a fraction of what I do elsewhere. I actualy partisipate here more for my own benifit. As a salesmen I know my product, but I don't use it that often. I can learn alot from you guys and your experiences.

Bill, it's Tractor Day, and I know you're sitting in your driveway waiting for the delivery truck and won't read this post until about midnight but I'm excited for you, as you can tell by this runon sentence.
/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gifBest of luck and be safe /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.

Nope, slight change of plans. I had to "work" today. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif So I'll be picking up my tractor on Thursday if all goes well. I swapped a Saturday for a Thursday day off...

This will work out much better in the long run since my dad also bought a new Kubota, I'll be able to pick up both tractors at once. I bought them off of Neil Messick and he's on the other side of the state.

Neil gave me a great price and treated me with respect. I tried to keep my business as close to home as possibile, but that appeared to be impossible. Since I travel alot in my region (and many times with my truck and trailer), I wasn't afraid to talk with dealers up to 200 miles from me.

Messicks dealership was close to the in-laws and I have stopped there in the past to pick up small parts while in that area.

I made it clear to all the dealers that I was dealing with that whomever I purchased a tractor from would also recieve additional business from my father. My boss is also interested in buying a new CUT as well since he just purchased 34 more acers.

It's raining this weekend anyway, so Thursday would be a much better day for me. I'm spending the day cleaning up the barn and staying dry. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I'll post some pictures of the loaded trailer next Thursday evening. Anyone traveling eastbound on the PA turnpike Thursday afternoon should see these girls heading home. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's too bad about the dealers close to you...

When I bought my first tractor almost three years ago I went to the JD dealership anout one mile from me. Nice guy, but no extras or room for haggling. Then I went to the Bota dealership about 4-5 miles from me. I got there well before closing, but he had plans that day and couldn't stick around. Hmmm. The following morning (Saturday) I went to the Bota dealership about 15-20 miles from me in another state. The price blew away the JD comparative model and I had the tractor in my driveway on Monday. I had around 60 hours on it before they called to see if I liked it and would be keeping it, so could we do the paperwork /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
I just bought my last two tractors from the same dealer, but I did go to the JD dealer when I blew a hose and needed a flat fixed on my old one. I was told from the neighbors that he marches to a different beat.

I know this is off topic, but there is a LOT to say for having a dealer you feel comfortable with and that treats you as if you had a 300 acre farm.
