Those are some great looking old tractors. Many that I will never get to see in person. Thanks for the link!

I just looked at the auction. It is a shame that a man spends his whole life building a collection like that and in the end, it is broken up and sold off to the high bidder. It would have been nice if it could have been donated to a museum that would have restored as much of it as possible and put it on display.
I spent the day at the Woodstock CT annual fair and they had some interesting old machinery on display, but nothing like the machines that were in that auction.....

This guy was well known by all collectors and I imagine people came from all over the country to buy stuff. You right, a museum would have been nice. I know each of the kids was allowed to pull one of the tractors out from the auction and keep it. They did that long before the posters went out. A couple of them was valued over a quarter mil.

Going through some of the pics on Pickneyville I notice that Case used a lot of green paint on their tractors. Looks lot like John Deere Green? So who actually has the patent on that paint? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Then she was no doubt without power most of the evening Friday. Truck snagged a power line and snapped a pole. We went over to Columbia for dinner and a few adult beverages /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
