Happy Blizzard everyone! I though I'd share pics of my new NH Blue Woods SS74. My dealer's timing was impeccible, as we are due to get around a foot of snow over this weekend. Anyway, here they are.

As John Travolta said in Broken Arrow - "Ain't in Cool!" I just tried mine for the first time! I bought a TC24D and ordered the SS52 with it. I was also surprised to see it in the crate NH blue. Snow is still coming down, we have about 8" so far, with a stiff NE breeze, sure made the hydraulic chute contol a handy feature. Keep it coming.

I wish I had the hydraulic chute.. I don't have to change direction all that often, but it woud be nice to move a lever, and have it turn on it's own.

Kris just as I suspected.... way too nice. What else can I say?
A very, very nice looking set of machines.

Kris and Brad, a few questions...

1. Approximately, what did you pay for your snowblowers?
2. Do you keep the blower on all winter?
3. If not, how hard is it to hook up?

I've considered buying a snow blower, but I can't keep it mounted all winter since my garage isn't long enough. And it'd probably have to sit outside which would mean hooking it up in the snow. Yuck. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Mike,

My 52" was listed on the invoice as $1400 if I recall correctly, but they were playing games for financing putting more of the total price of the package toward the tractor. Most that I priced when shopping ran $1600 to $1800. The one I bought is a Woods. The hydraulic chute cost another $580, about half of which was for the rear remote on the tractor itself. I like the Woods setup of using a bidirectional hydraulic motor rather than a hydraulic ram system, just a personal preference. Not much to bind up in the ice.

Hooking up is straight forward. I tried mine yesterday for the first time and I would guess it took me about 3 minutes to be ready to go. I was pleased to see how well tilting the blower back, using the top link, kept the cutting edge off the ground for use on a gravel road. The Woods has large skids, so that probably helps. I did find out that you can't raise the 3PH all the way while running or the drive shaft starts binding into the protective covers, especially on the blower end. But you can raise it plenty high enough, just can't give a full pull on the lift lever - need to pay attention like anything else.

I'll be swapping my blower and back blade on and off throughout the winter. I have liked a blower for the deeper snow, hit it once and it's gone! No need to push it far enough back for the next storm. I'm glad I bought it.

Mike,

I paid around $1800 for mine..

I definitly plan on keeping it on all winter. Not becasue it's a pain to get on or off, just that I hope to use it a LOT!!!!

If you have the deluxe 3PH arms, hookup is a breeze. Without, it's still easy.

We had a huge snowfall last night, and I found that you could go really fast when there was hardly any snow to pickup, but you had to go really slow when there was a lot. We got over 1.5 feet of snow, and I was going full steam in low range, and the motor was not bogging at all.

Kris,

Very nice snowblower. I'm sure it has already come in handy.

Just wondering, is it necessary to have such a large photo as your signature? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Gatorboy,

Thanks. As for the sig pic, on other forums I visit, my sigs are usually small compared to others.. I'll compress it a tad, to save loading time.
