I really like it.....Where did you get the tank? The filter looks "boatish". Roughly how many $$ do you have in it? Like all you guys, hovering with 40 lb's of dribbling fuel gets old.

Hey Boeing, I have approx. $655.00 invested, the break down is Greg Smith fuel tank $285, AGM desiccant breather $150,Proflow Dynamics 12V diesel fuel pump $200, welding (for coupling for breather, to remove moisture from steel tank; no drain valve) $20. Ball valves free, black pipe fittings a few dollars, and almost forgot Harbor freight water block filter $30. I think, yes it's expensive but I want it to last you can do it a lot less expensive ways like plastic containers (suitable for diesel) also northern tools pump and such. I kind of believe to spend a little more and get Quality over going cheap and then double spending for same part or something better than, is my way of thinking. That's why I bought a KUBOTA.

Very nice- looks like you've covered all the possible areas of trouble, in advance. If I didn't have a small tractor that uses very little fuel, really, I'd also be tired of hoisting that 5 gallon jug over the tractor. As it is, I can have my heating oil guy fill my jug, a couple of times a year. I hope that the Diesel Clean additive does the job, since it sits for a couple of months before getting used up. I do watch for any signs of gunk forming in the fuel, and the tractor fuel filter seems clean...

Well by reading so many other members experiences on building their own fuel caddies I think I've covered most all bases (trouble areas), I hope, but I'm sure one day down the road somethings going to pop up. I feel this is an indispensable item for any one to have in their garage, so far it's worked very well; couldn't imagine 5-10 years down the road and still trying to pick up that 5 gallons of diesel and holding it above the tractor to fuel it, wow that's rough just thinking about it. Anyway I think that water and rust are my main concerns, by using the dryer I hope to keep moisture at a minimum in the tank and the water block filter to keep any moisture out of the tank, and as for rust well I'm not sure how long the steel tank's gonna last but my theory on that is periodically drain out all duel (use up all fuel) and hopefully pour out any water in the tank. Also I will treat any and all diesel that I buy (with Power Service) so that all fuel will hopefully last through my inactive season (Winter).
