Here's some pics of our barn we're finishing. Some of the construction is a bit different than some of the other barns I've seen here. Just thought it might be of interest for those who may be putting up a building sometime. There will be a insulated shop and a studio area for my wife, both with PTAC units for heat, the studio will also have a full bath.

Nice looking barn. You must get a lot of snow up there? You put up some beefy trusses.

What are the dimensions?

I like the looks of your Pole Barn. Looks to me like you might be on the eastern side of Washington.

The concrete floor looks like a good job. Did you do this all yourself or hire someone to do it? What brand is the pole barn?

Congrats and what looks like a fine building.

It was a local builder with a good reputation (and it is indeed in eastern washington). We actually have very little snow, the trusses are double trusses but are on 12' centers. I hadn't seen it done that way on the threads here on TBN, but looking at barns around here it's pretty common. Given the length of the purlins I doubt it would work in Vermont (i.e. lots of snow) and you'd be better off with more single trusses and shorter purlins. What we do have is lots of wind, the barn does have some extra bracing and the girts are "commerical" style (2X6 set on blocking horizontal between the posts) which makes it somewhat more solid and allows us to finish the interior without adding framing to the outside walls.
Oh- it's 30'X72'.

Looks like the Gorge to me...or close to it. Where are you located?

BTW...nice building & great view.

odddd...i do a special detail for a builder that specs out a 2 ply ag truss seperated by 5.5" to wrap around the pole like that and satifies some braceing requirements, it allows them to go REALLY long on spaceing...10-12'

we call it the "wane pole barn criteria" because a guy name "wane" builds them.... (weird i know)

We're in SE Washington, near Walla Walla. Got inspection on the barn and can now start moving stuff into the unfinished garage area.

Nice barn!

I'm just started to look into something like this for my place ... can you give me an idea of cost?

Thanks
