I havent posted for a little while. I had a long post on about this cab I built. I thought I would make a new post since actually having a chance to use it. My wife was a little camera happy as this was the first time clearing snow at our new house. This tractor is a godsend, I have used it four times now for plowing snow and its amazing the difference it makes in clearing your driveway. Its as easy as driving my car around. I added a wiper and have had to use it a few times as well. Turns out the engine makes just enuf heat to keep the cab comfortable, I just happen to notice that I didnt have to bundle up or anything upon using it the first time. And the plow I bought from a fellow forum member here works outstanding. I was debating buying a department store type tractor last year upon moving into my new house, but im really glad I bought this Bolens, its been unstoppable so far with anything I've used it for. In that one shot down my driveway, you can see the tractor faintly, my driveway actually bends there and is twice as long.

Really glad that the plow & chains worked out for you. Great to see them getting used! Cab looks super! Any issues with fogging up? All you need now is some weight on the hitch... Very NICE job!

No issues with the cab fogging up as of yet, there is alot of open space at the bottom of cab, like down by the floorboards, and also there is a little space in the door jambs. I think I lucked out and just happen to have a happy medium between where the cab is heated enuf by the engine, but also allows enuf air in from the seams to keep it from fogging over.

I usually leave the tractor in my garage all the time when not in use, the other night I had some automotive type painting to do for another project in my garage. So I pulled the tractor just outside my garage door as to not get overspray on it, then it sat outside for like 6 hours with the door closed, not running. When I went out to bring it back in at like 2am after it had just been sitting, the cab was a little fogged up, but not much.

Im glad I added a wiper though, that, I have used a few times, I was debating as to whether the cab needed it or not, it really helps. I picked up a universal marine wiper kit for a boat, it was pretty simple to install.

As far as weight for the rear wheels go, so far I havent done much spinning, luckily my driveway only has a slight incline and the tractor seems to grip really well. Im still debating buying a 48 inch 3pt blower for the rear. My thinking is, if it snows deep I can blow it out of the way, when it doesnt snow deep the blower will act as weight on the rear end for traction plowing.

That 48 inch blower ought to do it. Should be a great combo, if you cannot push it, just turn around and have at it with the blower, best of both worlds!

I'm interested in your trailer hitch. Did it come with the tractor or did you build it? To what is it attached? Care to post a photo of your tractor's underparts?

The trailer hitch was actually on the tractor upon my purchasing it used. It does look like it was a bolt on accessory though. I get alot of use out of it, everything from pulling branches I cut down, to pulling my trash cart to the curb.
