Thanks Mickey,
Looking forward to seeing them.
Well, here are a couple prelim pics.
Due to using a qiuck mount hitch I had to fab a bracket to hold the cable at the tractor end. Everything is held in place with small hairpin clips.
As I mentioned in previous post, there has been numerous designs for the tiller end. Looking around at Ernie's today I saw several variations in the cable control mechanism I had not seen before. Ernie gave me one I liked a lot better than the bracket that was missing on mine and also mounted on the left side which helps some with cable length since the tiller is mounted further back with the quick mount hitch.
On the tiller end, the mechanism mounts to the flap close to the hinge point. I'll need to fab a bracket to support the link rod and hold the end of the cable. As the flap lifts, the link rod moves fwd, pulling on the cable. The cable pulls on the sense link at the tractor. This sense link is tied in to the "draft control" lever. The draft control lever sets the point when the movement of the tiller flap tells the 3pt arm to raise or fall, thus controlling the tiller depth. The mechanism on the flap has 2 positions. When at the aft position it unloads the cable to the point the flap will not pull on the sense link at the tractor. In the fwd position the cable has had some tension placed on it and now it pulls the sense link.
Hope this description describes what is going on.
While at ernie's I acquired a sensor that mounts to the tiller and functions with the UFO control electrically to automatically level the tiller on the fly. The way I understand this item it is a switch mechanism that sends signals to the UFO control which determins when the UFO needs to either raise or lower the hyd cyl on the right 3pt lift thus leveling the tiller.
Will try and remember when I get it all mounted, get all the links set to the correct place and learn how to operated the auto level, I'll make another post telling how it works and a couple pics to show the finished set-up.
I Partisipate in several tractor forums and yet to read of anyone having the depth and leveling mechanism hooked up and working on their tractor. Maybe a first and maybe helpful to others.
