bubba, think hard on this one. The 749 is the ultimate GT. The Edge deck does not perform like a 7iron but it is still a darn fine deck. I know because I have had them both.

I am pretty set on the x749. I don't think I could touch a 2013 for what I am paying for the 2012 x749. Inked the deal for 11k even. That and the x749 still has the non tier 4 engine. The diesel engine is usually a 1100-1200 dollar upgrade alone. buy off road diesel so my savings on fuel will be even more.

What i can tell you is, It'll be delivered to my house in about 3 weeks (give or take) Currently waiting for a blower to come in. Starting cost on the tractor was about 10,500 + blower + 54"HC drive over deck + Quick connect on deck and blower + brush gaurd + spout cap control Less the $500. coupon good until April 31. All this added up just a hair less than what I was quoted last year for a X728 with close to the same options.

Someone mentioned that they (and the dealer both) didn't like the new style of the hood. The front Grille to me reminded me of the old Scott's/John Deere riding mowers.
