Pictures of BIG Trees

I have always loved trees and everything about them. They are awesome and I thought I would share a picture of a BIG red oak at my Aunts house. What BIG trees do you know about?

I visited the redwood forest a couple years ago. The height of those trees was more impressive to me than the diameter. They didn’t really taper either. The trunk was the same size the whole way up. .

Everyone knows how enormous redwoods are...but for a red oak tree - that thing is HUGE! They never get that big up here. The biggest I have personally seen here was about 36" DBH

Those are unbelievably large trees.

Here we don’t have trees anywhere near that large.

That's huge! Have you every considered entering it in their county or state big tree contests?

Does it still produce acorns?

Those are some massive trees. I have a big, I believe white oak, in my yard. Well technically, I don't own it but I mow around it and clean up around it since the adjoining field is farmland.

It is a nice, but messy, tree. It is dark here now but will get a pic later today.

If you listen to this, starting at 14min. in he talks about the amount of insect and other life that a large tree sustains. I found this one of the more interesting series of Growing a greener world.

While the video was interesting at points, and I do admire nature in all it's glory, I think I'd rather watch the world go by than count caterpillars

Took this while out hunting a couple years ago. We've got a fair number of cedars like this in the region. Not near what there used to be, of course, but they're there.

This is a picture of a Cypress tree, located in Eagletown Oklahoma. It was taken in 1947.
