There was a recent discussion here on pipe fences. I saw one near my house that used pipe for the rails, but used square tubing for the post. Made a mighty nice looking fence. I suspect the cost is quite a bit higher than using pipe post. But the cutting/fitting/welding of the pipe would be easier since you would not have to worry about cutting the saddles. Anyone built a fence like that? Wroughtn_harv?????

Can you put a square pipe in a round hole? Or do you have to use a square hole auger?

One of the nicest fences in the Plano area is such a fence. It's been around I know since at least the late eighties and still looks great.

I wish I could say I did it. I can't. But I can sure respect whomever did it as a knowledgeable craftsman.

As for square post in a round hole. It's done all the time. What's really rare is putting a round post in a square hole. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
