Anyone have a Piranha tooth bar and used it for scraping weeds off at the ground? these little suckers around here are like your finger at the base and a few feet tall, and very prickly. I just ordered a Piranha to help with the problem. Any opinions?

I just bought one recently and been using it. It does work fairly good for what you want. I think it works better for a bit thicker ones where it grabs it. It digs much better than the straight edge too. Very solid and well built.

I was wondering if it would be able to take down saplings about 1"-2" around also?

Now if we could just get him to make a reciprocating Piranha tooth bar.

:)

Yes it can. But it probably depends on the root structure. I'm taking down cedar tree saplings with it and it works well for that because they don't have a deep root structure.

I have a grove of sugar pines, that are all too close together, and in the way of where I m going to put a motorhome cover. their roots are a couple feet around and extremely shallow. I just want to leave a few healthy ones along the side of the new building, and thin the rest of the herd. Maybe the few that are left will fill out more. when they are congested, they get beat up in the wind, and don't get enough sunlight.

I've been using mine to scrape up a lot of bittersweet vines, wild raspberry bushes and poison ivy around stone walls. I've been scraping them up by the roots. It works awesome. Best add on available for the BX in my opinion.

If it works better as a standard digging tool also, Ill probably leave it on for all purposes. Probably helps with moving snow banks too, especially if there's a little ice involved. Better store the blade on the ground so you don't brush up against those nasty teeth! that would sure rip up many pairs of jeans

Before I had my Piranha Tooth Bar, I had the bucket on my BX23 at head level one day and walked right into the front corner of it. I sure am glad that was BEFORE I had the PTB on it.

I've also dug up a fair share of rocks with it and I wasn't being gentle either. The PTB takes some SERIOUS abuse, no damage visible at all!
