Our old computer gave up the ghost and I don't recall what we had for a picture resizer. Can anyone recommend one?

If you are using resizing for posting and e-mail. I use Picasa. Export for resizing to post on forums. Email to send.

I use Microsoft paint.

If you have Microsoft as an operating system and office products, just use Microsoft Office Picture. You can crop, edit, compress, resize and many basic functions and simply to use.

If you have an Apple product, ask someone else!

paint.net is a real good freeware program that when you select resize tells you the size... also even in reducing leaves good quality pixels not really blurred like others.

I second paint.net...open source/free and as powerful as photoshop if you get all the free plugins. I use is daily.

I have Adobe CS3 and Corel - Not every Photo Program performs the same and to get ease of use and the best results I switch between them - Paint.Net is just so user friendly that it is what I install on the Computers at our Dealership. Before we got unlimited Text so the salesmen could text to email photos they used a camera and I had to remote in to two other locations and handle all three's complaints that their emails to customers were not going through. Paint was easy for some who were not up on high end user software to use for resizing after I explained that on Inter-Server Emails (within the business) could handle more than 5MB of attachments. Paint allows you to be able to send clear un-blurred detail pics of up to 10 photos.

The bundled Microsoft Photo Editor isn't too bad. A much more capable and free photo editing program is GIMP. It can be downloaded free and approaches programs like Photoshop Elements.

If you are lucky enough to have a Mac, use iPhoto.
