Putting in an order for a brand new Toolcat 5600 G-series with a Cab in the next few days. Have a few questions for Toolcat owners. One of the things we are planning to use it for is clearing snow off of packed stone dust paths. We are thinking we are going to get the SB200 72" inch snowblower but we have some concerns about it getting clogged with snow, anyone have an problems with this? When using a snow blade does it do well at not digging into hard packed but not frozen ground?
Has anyone used the angle broom to clear snow? Does it work well with a couple inches of wet snow?

We are also looking at getting a Farmboy HD so that we can mount a grade box on the back. Anyone have any experience with the Farmboy HD? Does it work well?

Also any add-ons I should be looking at getting? So far we are getting Hi-Flow hydraulics, attachment control, hydrostatic traction control and power bobtach.

I don't have any experience with snow, so can't answer those questions.

Instead of the Farmboy, why not get the 5610?

We considered getting the 5610 but decided we would rather have the bed then the PTO since the PTO isn't very powerful and we have a couple smaller tractors with PTOs already.

There are aftermarket pto and 3pt kits available. I'm not 100% positive they will work on the G series but I think they will. I wouldn't give up my bed either.. though lately I'm wondering why I bought another Toolcat other than to ride around. I end up using the skid for the heavy stuff anyway.

I have a Blizzard plow and 6' blower. If careful I can do a good job of not digging "potatoes" on unfrozen ground with plow. But for light snow on unfrozen ground I often let it melt to minimize damage. Did not use the blower this past season, generally works best if we receive over 1.5' and I did not get out in middle of storm to open roads and also near end of season when I am running out of places to push snow.
You can get rollers for plow to minimize damage to your stonedust road?

I can't help you with the G series because I have an A model. I do run a 66 inch snowblower and an 8 foot plow. I live in MD and we get a mix of wet and dry snow. With the wet snow I learned the hard way that it is not worth the effort to use the snow blower. I've clogged up the chute so badly that it took me the better part of an hour to clear it. Now I use an 8 foot plow for the wet snow and reserve the snow blower for large amounts of dry snow that occasionally falls here. My plow was adapted for down pressure.

I have a mixture of asphalt and gravel to deal with. The gravel here very rarely freezes so I've learned to be very careful to not dig in. And yes, it's very easy to dig into the gravel.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
