Hi folks,
I bought my first tractor a few weeks back. I have limited means, so its fairly old, a small ford 1100, with an older model JD FEL on it. It was sold to me with full disclosure, and the seller did inform me that their was a hydraulic leak around the area of the control valve. I have absolutely no previous experience with hydraulics, but I am ok with mechanics, I have a shop, and I have never had a problem fixing anything I put my mind to, so I bought it anyway.
Last night I pulled the control valve and took a look. It is a dukes fluid power make, I believe the company was bought out. What I saw surprised me. There were no signs of any o-rings, gaskets or seals at all. This is on the spools, the hose connectors, the detent plugs or end caps.
What should I be seeing when I pull this apart ?
Thanks.
