It's a bedeviling problem, for sure. I disassembled and cleaned the carb, changed the spark plug, replaced the fuel filter, all to no avail. Would suggest this- make sure there's NO water in the gas lines! That solved my problem for the short term. It started to occur again, and it became apparent that there was no fuel flow to the carb. I ended up removing the filter, and blowing out the line that went to the tank with compressed air, and the flow was back to normal. There must have been sludge in the tank that clogged the line. The only real fix is to remove the tank and clean it completely out though.
