I'm working on my first hydraulic system (Magnatrac 7000) and I'm having problems identifying the fitting size going into the track motors. It is hard getting super accurate caliper measurements because of tight spaces, but it is the male thread OD is close to .75". And it appears to be 37˚JIC.

What dash size is that?
Some sources claim that -12 has male thread OD is 0.75.
Others claim that -12 male thread OD is 1.06.

Please help with the confusion. I'm trying to order parts to put together a pressure gauge and this is holding things up.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Looks like that male fitting would come off faster than you can type the post. I’d suggest pulling that fitting and getting the measurements you need. Better yet, drag that fitting to a local auto parts, heavy machinery or tractor store and match it up. With it off you can, at least, verify with the link above.

The other option is to order some fittings to verify size and style. Common fittings won’t go to waste. JICxIP etc seem to get used up......hydraulic hoses are consumables- like oil, tires and blades.

I got mad one day at work and bought a male and female jic cap and plug all the way up to 1” because of that, was always having to reach down in a hole to guess sizes, drove me crazy!

I didn't even think of getting the male fitting completely out of the motor! Thank you.

You almost need to take your stuff to a hydraulic place. A friend has the best hydraulic fitting inventory for an hour in any direction. He just keeps telling me, there is no end to the variations.

While your there get a little hydraulic book that has all the fittings and sizes. There handly. Also you need to get a good measurement on the fittings, your just guessing if you dont.

Yes, and they work great as caps to stop oil leaks and dirt when working on equipment. I bought 2 of each size from Surplus Center, and stamped the number on each one. easy peasy now.
