Please Help, New Tractor, Hydraulic Blowout

I would definitely be with Roy on this one, box it back up and let the dealer handle it and if it was mine, I'd be screaming to high heaven about the thoughtless location of the valve, it should be in a protected location, it will get ripped off.

I'll add my name to the list of those who identified this valve as being in a vulnerable spot. Frankly I've never seen a valve so exposed. I don't care what kind of protective box it has the first time it encounters a stump or even large branch it is a gonner. Dumb installation choice. Usually these valves are either on the FEL arm or FEL post. If Mother Kubota wanted valves hanging out in space she would have put them there herself.

Believe it or not, this is where the Kubota Third Function Valve is supposed to be mounted. It is even shown in this location on one of the tractors in their Grand L product brochure. I share the concern and voiced it to the service folks. Although they agreed that it might not be ideal, they said that with the way the valve assembly is designed, there is really no other place to put it. At any rate, I suppose time will tell.

The good news is they showed up this morning and fixed the problem. It was a blown o-ring on top of the valve body, underneath the electronic part. (I am sure that is a technically correct description.) :D

All I know is it is working and so I will be shortly!

I had an 0-ring blow out (which I think is a technical term for 'installed wrong') on the rear remote on my L4400 right after I got it. Dealer fixed it, no problem.

I have to agree with everyone about the location of that box. I spend a lot of time in the woods and do a lot of pushing logs and brush and I can say without a doubt I would have ripped that thing and/or its hoses off a dozen times by now. (Of course, I've punctured my radiator and knocked the drive belt off while bulldozing brush, so I'm a bit harder (or stupider) on my tractor than some folks.) I'd say you need to be very careful. I'd like to see a picture of the protective box. If it wasn't real beefy I'd consider some modifications to protect it. You say it says "No Step"; in my opinion with that location, the box should be stout enough for stepping on, and a lot more.
