Hi. Name is Butch(max249).I live in Troy NY.I have a 25 year old 310- 8 that has broke a shaft in the trany.the local dealer says that they don't make the part anymore.I hate to give up on the old girl..she is a real work horse & I use her with my 40"snowblower...she can really throws the snow.I need that in up state NY. Dose anyone know where I can get the part or another trany Hate to retire her , they don't make them like that anymore.THANKS YOU FOR ANY HELP....BUTCH

You may have to get a machine shop to make you a shaft. It shouldn't be too hard for them, but it may cost a lot of $$$$. Labor for machinist isn't cheap. I think after 25 years, you got your money out of it.
You could also look at possibly welding it back together but still would likely require some machinist work to true it back straight.

Welcome to TBN. It would help immensely if you would divulge the brand of tractor. I have a guess but it would help to know. Have you ask any salvage yards regarding shaft availability??
