The neighbor's hydraulic operated disc seems to be pretty adjustable as far as depth. I don't have hydraulic outlets on my Yanmar. My disc is really small and I can control how much weight I use. Seems also that the more turned in the discs are, the more aggressive it is. If you leave them straighter it does well on grass covered clay for leveling out the ground. We have been using discs on our pastures/riding areas for years. And if you are an eventer, even the stadium jumping portion of the event is usually on grass. Only the dressage ring is sand.
