When I built my house in Ct in 1982, my well was only 160 ft deep. In 1999 I started having water problems, spelled not enough water /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif The original pump was still working at that time. Because of the number of homes building in the area, I believe my aquafer was effectively lowered at my well location until my static water level was low enough so I had little reserve. After much $$$ was spent redrilling the well to 450ft and fracing the well veins to increase flow coming into the well I was without water /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Because of the increased depth we needed to go with a more powerful pump and after 18 years the old pump had to be on its last leg ! This pump has performed well to date and hoping for longevity. I might mention that this well has always had a large amount of iron and I dont believe that had any detrimental effect on the pump.
