After half an hour testing I retarded the timing on my JM-200LE a few more degrees. I am now 6 to 8 degrees ahead of the delivered point. The engine is "about" as quiet and smooth as with the delivered timing. It starts cold in 75 degree air in less than 2 seconds. Before it took 3 to 10 seconds. Warmed up, 80C on temp gauge, as fast as I can turn and release the switch. Just bump the starter like a well tuned gasoline engine. The torque level is much higher from idle up. The idle speed is back to 850 RPM cold and 900 RPM warm. When testing with my 4 ft. boxblade I can pull in H1 like it used to pull in L1. H2 will pull clean from idle, no load, even up slight grades. H3 can pull cleanly at lower RPM than H2 could before. There is no smoke running at any throttle setting and load. A half hour boxblade work did not get the thermostat full open. Oil pressure stayed above .3 MPA?? at idle. I expect most at this forum will consider this all normal but for me it is great. I questioned buying the 200 and was starting to think I needed a bigger tractor. Now I am looking for more traction and a 5ft. boxblade. When I get a brush guard built for the tractor I will put my brush cutter to work, the real test for horsepower on this tractor. Spinning up my Busy Bee mower was slow. The new throttle response should fix that. The tuning was simple and only requires a 13MM socket and ratchet. The injector turns clockwise facing the fan like the fan turns. It is easy to make small changes and then run the engine for test, if you replace the bottom radiator hose with a 25in. flex hose and leave the 6 bolt cover off while testing. A little oil will spray out but very little will be lost. Remember to tighten at least one bolt on the injector before running for test. Clockwise advances counter clockwise retards as you face it. Based on the cold starting problems I have seen in the several forums, I doubt I had the only miss tuned tractor. No, I have no stock in a tractor tuning company.
