In Europe, every self respecting farmer and contractor uses a two way, or reversible plough. I know America is swithching to no-till or min-till practice, but for potatos, onions and fine seeds you just need a better seedbed. You do see some min-till wheat being grown on light soils but the majority ploughs with 3 or 4 furrow reversibles.
Few months ago we bought a 3 furrow 16" reversible, which is pulled at 25-30 cm depth in medium sand soil, with a 50 hp Zetor 5245 4wd.
With this reversible plough, the weight is the biggest problem: to lift it out of the ground on the end of the furrow, i have to back up a foot because breaking up the soil on top of the furrow slows down the lifting quite a lot..
About how big of plough your tractor can pull, hp isnt the main point of cosideration, it is the weight that helps generate traction. my 5245 weighs about 3200 kg and pulls 16" at 12" depth.
What's the weight of your 35 hp 4wd ???
