This may sound dumb, but I have no idea so I'm going to ask.

Is it possible to remove the two hydraulic lines for the dump function from my joystick and in there place connect the right and left angle for a plow?
Will this damage the cylinders on the loader for the bucket dump?

Thanks

Thanks!
Just thought of another question, will the cylinders for the bucket dump on the loader stay where I position them after I disconnect the lines and begin using the plow?

I asked the same question 10 years ago and was told to be concerned if the system had a ''regen'' system which I knew nothing about. Anyways I hooked it up and was a no go. Stumped. Then on here I found a few posts about regen systems and Mine must have it as it wouldnt work. Just something to be asked about first. In my case it was the dealers parts man who told me it wouldnt work..

''Regen is a "feature" of most modern FEL (Front End Loader) valves, it's on the Dump (joystick far right) circuit, and is also referred to as "Fast Dump". The reason it is nice to have is that without it, the weight of a filled bucket can actually "pull" the bucket down faster then the fluid can enter the other side of the cylinder, this will create a air pocket and give the bucket a "floppy" feeling until the joystick is held in the dump mode a few seconds to refill the cylinder pushing the air past the seals. So we add "regen" or "regenerative" function to the valve.

Regen solves this problem by actually filling both sides of the cylinder at the same time with hydraulic fluid. But how will that work you might ask? Well, because there is more volume on the side of the cylinder that extends it since the rod is taking up space in the other side, it "overpowers" the rod side and lets the cylinder extend-thereby dumping the bucket. So since now both sides of the cylinder are "pressurized", the air pocket can not develop, eliminating the "floppy" bucket syndrome. One other added bonus is that the bucket actually dumps faster due to the higher flow rate required to do all this, that's why it's referred to as "fast dump" sometimes.

So, now you may be asking “This is cool and all that, but why do I need to know about it?” The answer to that is simple, if you ever try to run a snow plow with two SA (single acting) cylinders, or a cylinder that drives a chute rotator on a snowblower you will soon find out that they won’t work if you push the joystick to far right in the regen mode. The plow won’t work because since both lines are pressurized-both cylinders will be trying to extend at the same time binding everything up. The rotator won’t work because there is no weight pushing the cylinder closed like there is on the loader.
On most, if not all John Deere tractors there is a “lockout” the limits how far the joystick travels to the right to keep it out of the regen mode.''

My tractor does have a fast dump. I would be better off sliding a pin into the frame of the plow keeping it locked and angle it manually for now until I can install a remote line up front for the plow. Then I can get the grapple :)
Thanks

Ok chopped I have a question for you. My tractor has regen. When I take the loader off and hook up my snow blower the discharge chute is rotated by the same hydraulics as the bucket dump. The one with regen. I haven't had my snow blower for very long but when I tried it last winter I didn't have any issues. I would like to know why I didn't have any issues.

Alot of valves are both regen and standard. Meaning there are 2 positions for dump. Kinda like 2 positions for lowering, float and power.

Regen only works with DA cylinders. It wont work on a typical plow setup that has 2 SA cylinders.

PMSmechanic.....I imagine your blower chute is rotated with a single DA cylinder.

Your 4410 has a 4-way valve, so the regen is not active all the time-only when the joystick pushed full right. It's machines with 3-way valves that the regen is active all the time that presents a problem.

Having a single DA cylinder is no guarantee you won't have a problem with regen. On things like a snowblower chute rotation like the system JD uses it can lock up one direction since there is no mechanical advantage to help push the cylinder closed. There are quite a few threads in the JD and Kubota forums about that.

If your tractor has rear remotes you can run hoses from them to the front to operate your plow left and right. That's what I did. I'm just about finished with my plow install. Just need to install a pressure relief (cushion) valve in case the blade hits a solid object.
