I have the Bobcat 3400 diesel UTV with a "Bobcat plow", (6 foot blade, manual angle adjust at the mount.) (This used to be Bobcat P/N 71947870)
Anyway, after finishing plowing the driveway and parking area two days ago, the plow is now stuck in the up position (thankfully up.) The lift actuator won't bring it down. I don't hear any noise as if the electric lift motor is running. Actuator is actually made by Thomson Linear so, it is probably an Acme Screw drive type lift inside the housing. Toggle control switch in the cab (mounted on the shift lever) seems okay, I unmounted it and unplugged all six wires, switch seems to "make"/close from pins 1-to-2 for down, and from pins 2-to-3 for up.
I did hit some snow banks pretty hard while plowing as I lifted the blade to full up position, in order to make room for more snow. But, not that hard that I expect an damage, who knows?
Could I have hit it too hard and jammed the lift screw. I do not have any troubleshooting guide or info on the lift actuator itself, there are no part numbers. Bobcat sell this lift actuator as a "non-serviceable" item. ($550+)
I can't tell if I opened an electrical circuit or caused a mechanical failure.
I don't have an electrical schematic for it either. Electrical harnesses are "a bowl of spaghetti" beneath the seat at the terminal block / battery compartment. Can't telll if there might be a bad really but, I have no way to test relays anyway. Might the also be a motor reset button? I sure cannot find one.
Does anyone have a couple of ideas? Perhaps call the local dealer for pickup /fix. That's the "Easy Button" but the expensive one and meanwhile I have no plow.
Thanks for any input/suggestions!
