Hello all! Newbie here seeking your advise.

I purchased a 2 furrow Dearborn plow which is in of shares. I contacted our local suppliers but have come up with little success. I have been searching on the net but the numbers on my share don't seem to be matching up to anything I have found. This is all new to me so any advise is greatly appreciated.

If that plow does not have a shin on the front leading edge of the moldboard, Points are going to be next very expensive, if you can find them at all.(2 piece setup) The 3 piece setup, consisting of point, shin, moldboard, We can probably help with parts. Ken Sweet

Thanks for the quick response Ken. I got a friend to run out to the plow and it seems to fit the description you made about the 3 piece set up. He mentioned that there was a place for the share (which I have with me) a piece that runs along the bottom and the moldboard and that everything bolts together. If this helps, the number off the plow itself is 1015 L7 (or 17- it's hard to read) and there is a "DMC" logo in a diamond shaped emblem.

Here is a plow picture that shows what a modern setup with wear "shin" looks like--That is the rusty pieces(2-3 inches wide 7-8 inches tall) they run vertical on this plow in front of the moldboard. The points are buried in the gravel (sorry)--If you don't have the shins, it is a 2 piece deal? Ken Sweet

Uh-o......I may be out of luck. I'll double check but I'm sure it doesn't have the shins. I'll be in touch Ken if I'm wrong. Thanks again!

Take a pic of the plow and put it here...if Its a Dearborn with a plate, your model may be a 10-15?? I've got a 10-8 that I put back into good health...and yea, you can buy a new plow for what the shares cost if its a 2 piece. BobG in VA

Those dearborn points may be able to be sourced at OLD ford tractor dealerships who still have a few laying around. It may be possible to completely retrofit them, but usually it is quite expensive.

It's quite possible that is the number for that plow........the plow is 10 miles from me at the moment so I had a friend go out and check the number. I have a funny feeling that this old plow is going to laid to rest:(

What is broke on the plow, The points (shares)? If that is all that is wrong, just scab weld any point that you can pick up at Tractor Supply over the old point. Keep on plowing. Ken Sweet
