Got this plow at a good price, 14" Allis Chalmers, probably for a B, how can I find the model # of the plow and can I pull it with the BX, after all it is orange, it should work. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

My guess - if you hitch it to the BX, you will rename it "anchor" rather than "plow"..................chim

I tend to agree with Chim. If your ground is clay, the plow will SET like a boat anchor and you will stall out. If your ground is sandy, the plow will set and your tires will spin............

If I had your plow though, I'd take off the Allis hitch (not destroying it) and attach a 3PTH to the beam. Then I'd try it and take pics and show all of us here that we are WRONG. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If it doesn't work, you don't have to post pics, can tell us you changed your mind, put the Allis plow back together, sell it, and live happily ever after.

Got the anchor finished finally and found a place to shine it up. Took it over to my sister and BIL's place and turned over the garden. I had my fingers crossed, didn't know how it would turn out, boy was I pleasantly surprised.

Then they decided to plow up part of the area that they keep mowed, it is rough so they will reseed and a good excuse to plow some more.

That Bota seems to pull that anchor pretty well, wish you were closer, I would borrow it from you. I tried to turn a sleeve hitch Brinley plow into a TPH plow but I don't have something right. I tried to use it yesterday and it just doesn't bury into the ground and roll the dirt the way yours is doing.

I was worried about getting it set right and welding the TPH on because if it was wrong it would mean a lot of grinding to take it loose and redo it so I started with the lift arms level on the tractor then I put the left tires of the tractor on 6x6 blocks and left the plow level on the floor. I then shimmed under the right side of the beam of the plow, standing in the rear of the plow. I then welded the beam to the draw bar, then plumbed the top link attachment point and tacked that at the bottom, then cut and welded in the braces for the top link mount. The coulter diameter was too large so I had to trim 1 1/4" off the diameter to make it fit. I left the settings the way I had put it together, but when I started plowing, I shortened the toplink one turn and it worked.
