Anyone plowing snow with a T293 or 297? How does it do? What plow are you using? Chains or not? What would you suggest as to setting it up to plow snow?

I have only pushed with the loader. Its a little light in the front end and depending upon the implement on back it makes a big difference in performance/traction. All in all it works fairly well depending on the type of snow. I do not use chains. Will you be plowing a paved drive or gravel?

I do have an adjustable Curtis plow that was made for different style mount that I hope to convert to quick attach, but I am not getting to it very fast.

It is gravel drive, about 900 feet total. The front is a circle drive and level. The back has a slight slope but straight. This is the long run. Most of the snow is powdery to slightly damp and we get about 6 to 8 inches per drop but we have had up to 14" in one shot.

We also only use the loader. Our crushed concrete drive is only 140' and had about the 8"-14" per storm last year. Our snow tends to be much heavier. I do not use chains but do keep the 500# ballast on the back. No slippage at all. The T293 never strained at all. I pushed straight down the drive and across the street and dumped into the drainage ditch. I will plan on a plow some day as the wind rows take too much time to clean up.

I have a 233 and use a 6ft plow with chains on rear and 200lbs on my 3pt , does an excellent job on pavement or gravel

Slightly OT- I bought an old 3pt snowblower and converted it to a QA. This is the first year I'll use the tractor with that blower (I used a ranger to push the blower last year). It used to take me anywhere from 30-45 min to clear our drive (~450 ft) from the time I left the house to the time I came in. I expect the tractor to be a little quicker. You don't have to worry about banks and running out of room..

Just another idea on snow removal....

Good looking set up. Was it originally PTO drive or was it always run by the gas engine?

man I wish I had a cab. especially on a day like today.

I will be curious to see if it is actually faster or slower that the Ranger.

We are getting pounded with snow right now. The cab is amazing, I never regret spending extra to have it.

It's faster. The problem with the ranger was that the snowblower weighs about 750 lbs. That's a lot of weight for the ranger to handle, especially in snow. The tractor handles the weight much better.

kenb - It was a PTO driven attachment. I can get some close up pictures of the conversion if you'd like.

That would be great.

I don't have a cab but I am starting to work on plans for a home made one. It doesn't get extremely cold here in NM very often. After 14 years in WI NM has nothing I can't handle for now. My wife keeps telling me the closer I get to 60 the more the cold will get to me. At 54 now and don't feel it yet.
