I got a puncture in the front tire on my bx while bush hogging. Was able to take the rim/tire off and use a tire plug repair kit and then finish up the bush hogging. Should I expect the tire to last for a long time or should I go ahead and get it replaced? Will keep an eye on the air pressure in the meantime.

I’ve plugged several while still on the tractor or mower and ran them for many years until the tread was worn out. A couple times I had to add a plug next to existing plugs but that stopped the leaks every time.

Within an hour of using my tractor, I ran over a 2x4 with 4 nails, front tire... Slime worked for several years, finally put in a tube ($16). No need to replace tire...

Next time before inserting plug into the tire, coat with flex seal. Then insert and trim off as usual.
Let dry and cure before use.
Used this same method on vehicle tires, works great.

Why in the world would you think about replacing the tire just because it had to have a hole fixed ? Plug it to patch it, put some air in it and keep on with the tractor work.

I would just forget about it, look at it here and there to make sure it still has air but consider it fixed... I've pushed rope plugs in tires on road vehicles in areas tire shops won't touch (close to the sidewall) and no issues for years... I just did one on my Ranger a couple weeks ago and it's good to go...

I have a rectangular piece of steel right now in one of my rear tires on my Toyota FJ.

If plan on plug/rope patching it and see how it goes.

I had a front left tractor tire puncture from some fencing wire, plugged it and then added sealant for any slow leaks that may develop. Tire still holding strong after 3 years.

Soon after I bought the TC33D I poked the front turf tire. I plugged it and it lasted many years. It did start leaking again so I plugged it again. I was surprised it lasted that long being that the turfs flex so much when using the FEL. It was still holding air when I traded it at 19 years.
