I have read many posts on how to hook up extra valves onto a tractor using the power beyond. I am working on an older John Deere 1050. I got a Massey backhoe which I need to attach somehow. I have found the PB fitting on my bucket control which then goes to a 2 port block by the tree point unit. The problem is that the backhoe only has two lines an IN and an OUT. I have not found what kind of system that is or how I can connect that to my existing system correctly.

Thank you for any help.

Welcome to TBN:D

Most , if not all backhoe's only have the IN and OUT ports. You can just plumb it in series with that line if you need the 3PH to still work, or it's better to hook the OUT directly to the sump if you don't need the 3PH-that how the new JD's do it...

Thank you for responding. I tried it the way you said and already blew one of the (very very old hoses) on the back hoe lol. So all is working great. Thank you.

I am NOT responsible for your hose blowing!:p

Just kidding...glad it is working for you.

I was just plumbing my old ARPS backhoe today. It originally had just an in and out. The valves were made by Gresen. One of the valves was bad and I got a new one from Baum Hydraulics. They also had a power beyond adapter that fit my valve set.

Now I use the same "in", the new power beyond outlet completes the series connection, and the old "out" goes to the low pressure return filter I added to the tractor. That's the "right" way to plumb it since the valve is not designed to withstand the high back pressure from the downstream (3ph) valve at the "out" port.

It's been a back burner project that I'm finally working on. Hooked it up today and it works!

Oh yeah, if you run the whole thing off a rear remote (bungee on the handle) that has power beyond and a separate return line it is okay to use just the "in" and "out ports like it is. That's another "right" way to do it. All of the flow ends up in the remote's low pressure return line.
