PM inop??

When I hit 'submit' for a PM, all it does is blink? the page and I'm back to where I started. Tried multiple times and same results. This has happened to me before and on a different PC too.

Any idea what's up?

Edit...I can receive PM's ok, just doesn't seem to send

Are you sure it didn't send? Could it be that you forgot to hit the "I want to keep a copy of my message" or forgot to hit the "Continue" button at the review stage, which comes after hitting "Continue" the first time, when you finished typing your message.

I doubt it sent. Maybe it did?? I'll ask JimR at his GM thread if it did. I know for a fact in the past it has happened and then corrected itself.

One point I forgot to mention is it only happens when I try to reply to a PM, otherwise all is well

I think perhaps you are getting confused on the compose page. When you write your PM, and then click on the Continue button, if you have the preview message checked, you are then directed to a screen showing your message, and a new compose area to allow you to edit the message. About 1/3 the way down is a Continue button to click to finally send the PM, however below the compose box is another continue button.

It is pretty easy to miss the button in the middle and keep clicking the one at the bottom. This just keeps cycling you through allowing you to edit your message.

I found this out the hard way when all my brain cells weren't firing at the same time. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yep...not the first time I've been confused with TBN /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Too many irons in the fire and a little bit of CRS added in, don't help when your in a hurry and under the gun either. : /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Actually I think it worked now. I just made a reply and noticed the difference with the next screen. Meaning before I hit the 'continue' button, the heading said it would be sent. When it happened earlier, I never got that heading. I even closed the browser and retried. No matter which 'continue' I hit, the result was the same. It's happened before, so I'm familar with the problem.
