I was thinking of starting a PODCast for Tractors - If anyone does not know what a podcast is please go to goole & search it - a WAY cool new way of creating fun & informative shows. I get them but I do not have a IPOD I just use my computer.

Question is:

1. Would anyone here listen toit?
2. Coul;d I get help with Show Ideas? ( I was thinking of a 5-20 min once a week show)

I'd listen to it. I really like podcasts- I listen to them all the time while out on the tractor.

Hi,

Here are some links that may be helpful for Podcasting in general:

To create an RSS feed, check out Listgarden (Free)
www.softrwaregarden.com

Here are some links to tools, free & cheap (relatively):

Here you go -- full of features and just 50 bucks (note: still in beta)!

Here's a free one -- PodProducer:

I like this one for creating & managing content. They have some expensive software, but also a stripped down Internet version for $99 or so:

Sam Broadcaster $200

High end Direct-X audio processor for online radio:

Another page on the DB Audio site, for broadcasters:

One advice I would like to share about doing audio for the web is to get a good microphone. Many people try to "get by" with a $15 cheapie from OfficeMax. There are some great pro mics available for $100 to $200 (now USB's too) that will give you a terrific quality of sound.

Also, if you are going to be doing lots of interviews over the phone, consider getting the Broadcast Host http://www.jkaudio.com./broadcast-host.htm. JK Audio has all kinds of nifty tools for pro radio work. Broadcast Host is somewhat expensive at around $500, but it is the one piece of pro broadcasting equipment that truly gives you "control" over both sides of the interview, and makes you sound like an NPR broadcast. Another similar tool is from Telos, for about $500. JK Audio also has "Innkeeper," with a little more functionality than Broadcast Host.

Hope this helps.

PS. I visited your "singing cowboy" church site, and really enjoyed all of the audio/songs there. Nice job. All the best with your Podcasting!
