Took the Gizz out for a second run the other day before I dropped my cash down. I was convinced the Grizzly 700 was the machine to own (very nice rig indeed), then I figured I might as well take the big Polaris out, just to make absolutely sure. Well........all I can say is I'm sold on the Polaris. That 850 is downright nasty......70hp. It completely and totally blows away the Grizzly. Just the sound of the 2 cylinder 850 is music to the ears....very smooth and different than the usual thump of a big bore single. It really sounds awesome. It is so fast it's scary. I rode it for about 10 minutes and was just laughing at the sheer ability of the machine. The whole area where I test rode was snow covered, so I could grab a small bit of throttle and all fours would break loose in a totally controlled drift at like 20mph in a flash....I'm talking a little bit more throttle. Brakes are outstanding.....Off the throttle and into a bit of the brakes and you're almost over the handlebars, but very controllable. Comfort is also excellent and the cushy seat feels great. I was hitting large frozen piles of snow and ice and it just absorbed them. It didn't even flinch, although I did at first hit. It's a pretty expensive machine, but it seems like it's worth it from what I've seen and read. Very nice workmanship (welds / plastic quality, etc.) and made in the USA (MN). Oh, and the weight....not a factor. It feels more stable and better planted. It's a new model, so I'm going to get the extended factory warranty. What a pleasure ride.....Looking forward to writing the check and buying American. Can't wait :)

You'd think they almost have to, considering the slow and steady climb in HP for all manufacturers. I've also heard that the block is heavier than it should be for an 850, so the thinking is that there's plenty of metal available for a 950 or 1000 in time. Who knows, maybe they'll bore it a bit and go up to 900 or 950 next year. That would be nuts. The XP is FAST. I just hope it doesn't have any major issues and stays out of the shop.

Will post a pic when she arrives..... build might be done today, but not sure.
