Anybody have a "typical" price per foot for ceiling liner for a polebarn. Do you span 4' with it?

Count on spending around $1.00 per square foot after you include trim pieces and fasteners. It's rated to span 4 feet and that's what I did with mine and it's very solid. Don't forget the vapor barrier.

Thanks, No insulation above it, do you still need vapor barrier? Menards has it for around 1.50/ft, but closest one is 300 miles away. Locally it's over $2 / liner ft.

You don't need a vapor barrier if it's not heated but I would still would add it in case I wanted to insulate and heat it later. I think I paid just over $2 a linear foot for the panels.

If you don't put up a vapor barrier and later decide to heat it then your only choice for insulation is spray foam. Definitely put up the vapor barrier -- its cheap and doesn't take that much time. Good investment.

I used the same steel as used on the outside for my interior walls. Mainly because I didn't have to special order it. But the normal wall (lighter qauge) panel steel is rated to span 4 feet. I put stringers up about 3 feet apart. Remember to run extra stringers on walls anywhere that you think you might want to hang or mount something. I ran extra stringers where my electrical boxes would go (I used conduit) and where overhead cabinets would go.

Oh...and Menards will deliver. If you order the panels (3 week lead time) you can have them cut to length to the nearest inch. If you buy from stock, you have to take the lengths they carry.

Not sure what menards has, I have never bought from them.

But the other places that sell metal around here, typically have 3 versions.

1. Lifetime warranty. This is the thicker 26 gauge metal
2. 40year warranty. This is thinner 29 gauge
3. Liner panel. Only comes in white. Also 29 gauge but not as high quality paint as it is meant for indoors

If you are saving $0.5/ft, I would certainly inquire about delivery. IF you are buying enough, may make it worth while

My ceiling is 26 gauge with the joists on 7.5' centers and carrying 15" of insulation. This saves the cost and time of nailing up stringers every 4'
