Pole shed water seepage?

I put up a pole shed last year and haven't finished the grading on the outside or put the gravel screenings in for the floor. It is kind of sloped away but we just had a big rain and I noticed the clay inside is soaking up the rain water about 2-2 1/2' inside the building on one side. Will the finish grading half way up the skirt boards stop this from happening if I drive on it and pack it good with the skid steer or is there something else to stop the inside from absorbing the water coming off the roof? Eavestroughs would be nice but were over my budget.

Grading will help but I would dig a trench around the building, put in drain tile and fill with gravel. A bit of work but not expensive.

Should, have same issue have slopped away on three sides, didn't get to finishing back side, back end of building clay soak up water, 24 overhang all the way around.

The soil/clay will absorb water from the surrounding environment regardless. Once you haul gravel in the building you will probably never see it. Positive drainage away from the building on all sides is key.

I built a pad up for the shed. I wonder if putting plastic or landscape fabric around the bottom with a little soil over top would help?

I have done that when I didn't want to install gutters. I used gravel over the plastic, then on the end I made a small ditch to divert, the water. In that application worked well. In the OP's case can see it helping.
