Pond and Flower gardens

OK, got started today on part of the back yard projects.

Here we (me and bota) are digging the hole for the pond liner.

Next one, this is the flower garden that is where I used to be able to mow straight up and back............Now I get to trim it.

Here we are back at the pond, now with liner and filled in. This was about 2 feet deep in the center, thanks to KK, Kubota, and Markham welding. Junkman, now is the time to tell me how SIMPLE and how much cleaner and quicker that would have been with your 23 and the backhoe. ACCIDENTALLY send that email to my better half, she dont believe me, says I just want a new toy

Here is the bota in full dress.............and looking great. I am sending her to the dealer for 100 hour service and to check the hydraulics on Monday..........junkman, she will be there for them to look at for trade..............Ok, dreaming again.

Last one, this is waiting for me on Sunday after church with my mom.........someone help me, I am drowning in rocks..........

OK, truth is I love it. During the week I deal with computers all day, and thier beloved owners, dentists. This is my relaxation.

anyway, when I am done Sunday all these will be around the pond and it will begin to look better.

OK last one, this is the hole BEFORE filling it in with the liner. We simply had to do some leveling and there you go.

Those kitties are now full grown cougars, living in Oregon. Although they have no claws, the teeth are still there. Some no good %$%^#^&$^% pulled the claws with a pair of pliers when they were born, and then did not feed them properly after taking them from their mother, who was also in his custody.

Ok, this pond is now back out of the ground, extreme rains got the hole filled with water and floated the liner back out. I have dug the hole back out, but was wondering is there supposed to be something besides soil around the liner that is in the ground? I plan on it being out of the ground as before, and filling in around what is out of the ground with sand and topsoil for planting and decorations.

Any experience, or helpful ideas would be greatly appreciated

Funny thing about under ground hydrolic preasure. It will lift an entire gunite swimming pool out of the groud if not built correctly for the area. Plastic and fiberglass septic tanks are also prone to popping out after installation if not full.

Was your pond full of water?

Sand is an excellent material for lining the sides of your pond, but it wont keep it in the ground.
