I was looking at a Leinbach 3 pt reversable scoop the other day and got to wondering exactly how it operates?

Is the scoop release only used to dump the load? Also after dumping the load do you ground the scoop to relatch the release arm?

Would appreciate any input as I think this is one item I really want /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Greetings, I used to work a pond scoop as a sort of rear end loader for many years. Moved alot of dirt & gravel with it.

The principle on how it works is very basic and very simple. Weight and balance. When it's empty the weight is to the rear of the pivot point, which snaps it into loading position and when full it's towards the front which assist's in the dumping stage. You can adj the toplink to get more weight to the rear when it's empty which helps swing it back up and lock it for another load once you empty it.
Most times, when you dump it the moment of it swinging back will snap it locked.
I've rarely had to ground it to get it locked back.
The pic is my old TE20 w/the pond scoop. It worked as a small carryall too.

What Volfandt said, I used one for many years, works great. I would drag it forward in low gear, because my reverse gear was to high. you can use the top link for depth control, if you get to much angle the bight will be too much and fight you.
