Portable Generator CO Emission

I was thinking about this thread as I started up my motorcycle last night. No cat converter on that one. The kid and I were playing with the puffs from the big single cylinder engine. I've been in races where there was a backup of riders on running bikes trying to get through a skinny obstacle, aka a bottlekneck, and we were sucking fumes big time.

100 times worse than a car, wow those cats sure work well.

Actually, the Costcos around Atlanta DO offer small diesel gensets. I seem to recall that they were of Chinese make, about 5kw, and about $6-700.

One of our local fire departments sold a bunch of Chinese generators as a fund raiser last year after an extended power outage. This year a few people started to actually use them. After a few problems started showing up it was discovered that the CSA/UL stickers were counterfit and then things got exciting......
