Sunday I made a trip to the nearest Rural King store, and as I pulled into the lot, I saw this little beauty calling my name.
Looks pretty well made, has a manual hydraulic pump, but has a quick coupler in the line to the lift cylinder, so it would be easy to install an electric pump, like the one I have in the shop.
I have a couple of projects in mind for next spring, and this would make them much easier. I could load it with dirt and run it to the stock pile, rather than running a couple of hundred feet with every bucketfull.
Looks like they removed whatever coupler goes on the tongue to deter theft. Probably has a pintle hitch ring, or maybe a ball hitch type coupler.
Any way, looks like a possible addition to the implement collection.

I have this, but mine is branded King Kutter XB. I'm sure this one is the same, just store branded for Rural King. It is identical except for the brand stickers on the side. I don't know how much you stopped to look at it, so I'll mention a few things.

The tail gate drops down like a regular trailer for dumping in a pile. You drop the top of the gate by sliding the heavy pin on each side of the gate toward the center and the gate will drop down.

You can also leave the top pinned in place and trip-open the bottom like a dump truck. So, if you want your load spread you can raise the bed, then while moving trip the gate bottom and have material flow out the bottom. You just run a rope line from the lever on the wagon to pull/activate the gate. In your pictures, that lever in the front has been pulled down, and in the picture from the back you can see the heavy "hooks" on the bottom of the gate are open. If you pumped up the bed as is, you will see the bottom of the gate swing open.

With the gate closed and the trip lever in front raised to it's closed position, the heavy hooks on the bottom close and are now the hinge for opening the gate at the top.

It comes with two couplers. On mine, the two inch ball coupler was in place, and that's how I use it. But if you pump up the bed, you will see a second coupler secured to the frame you can swap in. It's a drop in pin coupler for your tractor's drawbar.

BTW, if you really load it up with dirt or any heavy load, it does take more than a bit of effort to raise it with the hand pump. Adding an electric pump would be nice!

I love the thing, and highly recommend it for what it's intended.

Ah, that's what that is. I didn't notice it until I looked at the picture I took, and couldn't figure out what it is.

Thanks for the review.

Still mulling it over.

Thought the cylinder could be re-plumbed to dual action for tractor hydraulics

That looks like a pretty sweet set-up. I want something towable behind my truck too. I've been looking for a used 5000# single axle dump trailer forever. Seems like if they're used, they're used up, and still 2-3k$. New is around 4-5k.

With the correct valve, you only need one line to provide pressure to the lift cylinder.
