I have a lead on a Shaver 8 post driver that is setup to mount on a bucket. My intention has been for a 3PH mount but for no real good reason. Does anyone have any advice for the use of a post drive mounted to the bucket or 3PH? This will be going on a FarmTrac 270DTC so it in not real heavy. The rears are loaded.

By mount on a bucket do you mean boom mounted- like for a skid loader or compact tractor? A 3pt mount would be a very strong mount, I would think, the bucket mount, not so sure about. We have a Shaver HD-10 mounted to a Gehl 4610 skid loader and it bounces the loader and operator inside around driving posts, and we seem to have a heck of a time getting a post to drive in straight, even when we have dug a 2" pilot hole with w/o sharpening the posts. You will need a big return line to dump the oil from the cylinder on the downward stroke.

I think it mounts directly to the bucket. I am not sure what the mount looks like exactly. I was wondering how much bouncing around it would do on the bucket vs the 3PH.
