I have a Lienbach L7200JR post hole digger implement. This thing is built like a tank and works GREAT with my 12" auger. I used it to bore a few hundred fence post holes with my 790. I just used it with my new 4120 and it works great, but I'm unable to lift the auger more than about two inches off a level spot on the ground. Must be a factor of the geometry of the 3PH on my new, much larger, tractor. Now, I have to just let it drag over uneven ground or have someone walk along and hold the auger up at an angle. Any ideas on how to get the PHD to lift higher?

Maybe telescoping arms, but I use an iMatch for most implements and would prefer to avoid the expense.

This is definitely where a picture is worth 1000 words...

from what I've heard, Imatch, quick hitch, etc... and PHD do not play well together.
try hooking it up directly to the tractor and see if that works better.

Sorry - should have clarified. You can't hook a PHD to an iMatch - it's not possible. I had the PHD attached directly to the tractor. Just mentioned that I use iMatch for most other implements, and I need to be able to retain the ability to put my iMatch hitch on when not using the PHD. Also - I did adjust the PHD to get max lift, but no dice. I'd take some pics, but I took the darn thing off and stowed it when I finished the job. Won't have time to put it back on for a while.

I use IMatch most of the time too and would say it is alot easier to R/R the IMatch hitch if you will discard the cotter pins it is shipped with and use clips instead. About a 2 dollar fix.

How high above the ground are the end of your lift arms when fully raised? Measured at the swivel ball.

The top link could be in the wrong hole. I believe the lower the hole the higher you can lift an implement.

I had a similar problem with the post hole digger that I bought.

I had to play with the geometry a little to get it to lift high enough.

I shortened the lower links as much as possible to get the maximum lift.

I have some pictures on this post showing the installation.

Actually the PHD boom attached directly where the top link goes. The pivot point for the boom is on the u-fram that attaches to the lower 3PH arms, so the lower you attach the top link connection, the higher it will lift. It is in the lowest position.

Steve - Yep - I use the clips too. I'll measure the tractor when I'm at the farm tomorrow.

Thanks for the info. I did try every combination I could think of with no success - but I was in a hurry to use the digger, so I plan to try again soon.
