Can anyone reccomend a cheaper PHD? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifLooking for best quality for the price. I would like to spend less than $500, that may be pushing it, but I may be able to scrape up a little more. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gifI have a 50 Hp tractor and would like to use 9 or 12 inch auger, thanks in advance,

Sorry 5103Owner if I had seen your post I could of given you some info and asked my question without having to start my post "Leinbach or Howse PHD" /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I have received these prices:

Medium Duty, both with 9" auger:

Howse PHD $499.00

Leinbach PHD $420.00 ( currently double checking to make sure this includes the auger, will let you know)

where did you get those prices? they seem pretty good.

I have two dealers I buy all my tractor "stuff" from and received the prices from them. I also did a search on the internet and Northern Tool had the same pricing.

what do you think about the one from tractor supply?
$524 for one with a 9" auger isn't too bad, considering I would have to pay to about the same or more to ship the others.

there is also one from agri supply with 9" auger for $459, but then again there's shipping.

Thats not a bad price and I plan on looking at it. Also depends on the brand.

Do you not have a tractor dealer close by?

john deere, massey ferguson, kubota, agco, farmtrac, new holland, case, mahindra, landpride, woods, cub cadet, you name it it's probobly within a hundred miles of me. I don't know who sells leinbach or howse in my area (kinda funny huh). John deere wanted $800 for their medium duty PHD which is way out of my price range, so I figured the other dealers would be around the same, I haven't really gone "shopping" for one all that much yet, just wanted to Know what you guys thought.

Check with a couple other dealers, they should carry something close to these brands and price.
Let us know what you find out.

I'd be inclined to buy the cheapest you can find. PHD is one of those things that I don't think any of us can wear out anymore. Tend to use on occasion and then it sits for another year or two. Handy but will probably last forever.
