Has anybody used a post hole digger on a gc2310. I'm concerned about the power it needs or the hyd. not being able to lift it out of the hole.

Often the bigger problem, is can it lift high enough to lift the auger above the ground on subCUT's. My previous Kubota B1700 could just barely clear the ground. Power is usually not the issue. Lift is rarely an issue unless the tractor moved and little and not lifting PHD straight up. Lifting is much easier with the auger running as you lift.
What is the lift rating of the gc2310? If over 500-700 lbs, you are probably OK.

The lift of the gc2310 is 1,190 lbs, so lift is not an issue. You have enough power. Do you have the clearance for the lift is the remaining question? My guess is yes, but you may want to try it on your tractor before you buy.

My friend has one, but has no use for it, so he asked me if I wanted to keep it at my house and use it, so I said sure. We put it on and it fits and lifts OK. the next step was try it out. I have never used one before, I must be using it wrong. I had a hard time with it, It keep on wanting to dig in and stall the tractor then i couldn't get it out. what is the best way to use it?

Mpegg, You have to ease it into the ground, not drop and go...sounds like you have soft soil. On hard soil it could bounce around and dig very slow (especially with dull cutting tips)

Feather it into the ground so that it has a chance to clear the spoils as it goes in and doesn't just screw itself into the ground. If your tractor is too light in the frontend, scoop up a load of dirt or something to add weight so if you have the power on and it gets a good bite it won't pull your frontend off the ground

Hey Mpeg:
I agree with nasty, you have to ease the auger in the ground. Just set your setting on the 3PH a little at a time and go slow at first or you will bury the auger and have a fun time getting it out. Make sur you lift it out once in awhile to clean the dirt out of the hole and it will be fine. Good luck!:)

I tried to go as slow as I could, but when it grabs it over powers the hyd. and pulls it right in. The ground was very soft in that area. Is it better in harder ground? and Is this normal to over power the hyd?
